What a roof coating does
A roof coating is far more than colour. A quality membrane seals the surface against Perth’s UV and driving rain, bridges the fine porosity of tile, resists the moss and lichen that shorten a roof’s life, and gives the roof a fresh, uniform finish. On metal, it protects against corrosion and restores faded colour; on tile, it re-seals a surface that’s become porous with age.

Coating vs cheap roof paint
Here’s the difference that matters. A cheap roof “paint” job is often a single thin coat of low-grade product straight over a barely-cleaned roof. It looks fine for a season, then fades, flakes and peels. A proper coating system is multiple coats of a genuine membrane over a properly prepared and primed surface, applied by accredited painters.
The gap between the two shows up in two or three years, when the cheap job needs redoing and the coated roof still looks new. Preparation and product are everything.
Roof coating cost in Perth

Which roofs can be coated
Most concrete tile, terracotta and Colorbond roofs can be coated, provided they’re structurally sound.
